I've wishlisted that thing for so long now, the trailer looks amazing!! All the best for the release, and I hope they don't suddenly release GTA6 in that week :D
Absolutely love this! Seven years is a testament to real dedication. The cosy art style is what makes indie games feel so inviting compared to AAA titles that sometimes prioritize realism over warmth. I spent almsot a decade on a project once and people dont realize how much grit it takes to keep going when theres no guarantee of a payoff. The key art having that hand-drawn texture really sells the vibe.
Luckily before I started working on this full time, I could save enough to survive :D. But especially in the early stages it’s very difficult to not just give up.
Looks wonderful & fun! (I don’t even play video games but my husband & daughter do so all-time favorite is Legend of Zelda. Kirby is more my speed, haha.) Love the leek and biscuit eating ram. Really nice mix of adventure & humor. My husband worked in video games (Square, Sony) as an artist later art director. Wish you much success!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the humor :D cause we do to! And nice about you husband then you have an insight in what it takes to make a game come to life !
Eyyy, no worries, I always loved what u guys do. Under the Island is something I've heard about over the years, firstly by finding out about Schmoe, through her art, I've been slowly introduced to her world, and then found this common one, the game you guys made. I'm eager to play it, and I hope it receives the love and attention it deserves. Y'all are awesome!
Just came back to say I wishlisted this item at the time this newsletter came out and I had great fun this weekend playing it, congratulations on launching! It looks lovely and was a joy to play.
I loved playing the demo! Seven years seems like a long time, but with a tiny team, I think it feels like a pretty good turnaround! When it launches I will bug my partner to play it on his dev stream.
