Dear Reader,

Let me start by apologizing for not writing last week. I was simply too busy with the looming move and paid jobs. I love writing these but have to switch to making this a biweekly newsletter. I will be less stressed that way.
This means that everyone has to 2 weeks to jump in on the practice. I might return to a weekly newsletter with the practice at some point but I really don’t know yet. My life is turning upside down and I will have to find my pace once everything settles.

The #schmoescosyartclub sketches are part of todays topic

I chose couples hugging for the practice since I felt that I had a bit of a lack in that area. And I still find people touching or just generally interacting closely rather hard. I didn’t finish all the poses on hugging but felt drawn to more interactive poses so I just kept browsing Pinterest and drawing poses I liked.

I also found this pin that I then thought I could adapt it to an illustration.( Ignore all the eraser dirt… ^^’)

After cleaning up the sketch ab it I did a some digital colors in procreate which I didn’t care for to be honest and so I colored the sketch in my sketchbook. I had sort of finished but hours later I decided that the grass needs to be a lot darker and so I just went over everything.

Honestly I kinda liked it best before darkening the grass, but I’m still glad I did it. Chalking it up to experience :)

I think I was to cautious with the colors from the start. The values are now a bit muddled, maybe I could also up the contrast on the characters a bit more to fix it.
But never mind, for now I’m done.
